December 6 - December 24, 2025

The holiday season has arrived, and we’re delighted to unveil our annual special exhibition. This year is particularly meaningful as we celebrate our very first holiday in our new location! With the gallery nearing its 40th anniversary next year, we’ve also given our holiday show a refreshing new title, transitioning from “Santa’s Chest” to “Santa’s Rally”.

New works from our artists continue to come in, and we’ve been joyfully arranging them into a festive display, though figuring out how to fit everything on the walls is a royal challenge! If you haven’t had a chance to visit our new space yet, we’d love to welcome you. Come see what’s new and we’re sure you’ll be delighted!

And if you’re not nearby, no worries! All artworks can be viewed on our website, and we ship worldwide. If you’re purchasing a piece as a Christmas gift, we’ll do everything we can to ensure it arrives on or before December 24th.

Josephine Fletcher Spotlight

November 29 - December 20, 2025

We are thrilled to announce our next Spotlight Show, dedicated entirely to the vibrant and evocative work of Josephine Fletcher (Josi), the beloved Salt Spring Island painter whose landscapes pulse with the wild beauty of the West Coast.

Josi’s paintings are a celebration of colour and light, born from her deep connection to the landscapes that surround her. Nurtured amid the artistic community of Hornby Island and now thriving on Salt Spring, her bold, painterly strokes evoke the transcendental spirit of nature: arbutus groves bending in the wind, sandstone shores kissed by the sea, and the fleeting glow of a full moon over Fulford Harbour. Influenced by the Fauves and the quiet power of Emily Carr, her work is both masterful and deeply personal, a love letter to the Gulf Islands she calls home.

Since Josi joined our gallery's roster in 2022, her bold, unapologetic paintings have sparked lively (and sometimes heated!) conversations among artists, collectors, and visitors alike. Far from shying away, we’ve welcomed the energy! I’m absolutely delighted to share that Josi has just been awarded one of the top honours from the 2025 Salt Spring National Art Prize (SSNAP): the prestigious Salon des Refusés Solo Exhibition Prize. This remarkable recognition is a thrilling reaffirmation of the vision, courage, and sheer talent that first drew us to Josi’s work, and that continues to captivate (and occasionally provoke) everyone who steps in front of her canvases.

Josi will be at the gallery on Saturday November 29 to meet and greet from 11am to 3pm. Whether you’re a longtime admirer of Josephine’s transcendent visions or discovering her passion for the first time, please join us! Wine, warmth, and wonderful company guaranteed!

Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005) – An Intergalactic Sibling Quest

Released on November 11, 2005, Zathura: A Space Adventure is a science fiction action-adventure film directed by Jon Favreau. Often described as "Jumanji in space," it serves as a standalone "spiritual successor" to the 1995 hit, based on the children's book by Chris Van Allsburg. Plot Summary

The story follows two bickering brothers, 10-year-old Walter (Josh Hutcherson) and 6-year-old Danny (Jonah Bobo), who are left home alone while their father (Tim Robbins) is at work. In their dusty basement, they find a mysterious, vintage 1950s mechanical board game called Zathura. Zathura A Space Adventure -2005- Dual Audio -Hi...

Upon taking their first turn, the brothers are shocked to find their entire house has been uprooted and launched into deep space. To return home, they must finish the game by reaching the planet Zathura, all while surviving:

Zathura A Space Adventure (2005) remains a standout entry in the sci-fi fantasy genre, offering a high-stakes journey through the cosmos from the comfort of a suburban living room. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film serves as a spiritual successor to the 1995 hit Jumanji, both being based on the imaginative works of author Chris Van Allsburg. For fans seeking the best viewing experience, the Dual Audio High Definition version provides the perfect balance of linguistic accessibility and visual clarity.

The story follows two bickering brothers, Walter and Danny, who discover a mysterious, clockwork board game in their basement. Unlike Jumanji’s jungle-themed chaos, Zathura propels the boys' house directly into deep space. Every turn of the key and pull of the lever triggers a new cosmic peril, ranging from a defective, heat-seeking robot to a relentless meteor shower. The tension is amplified by the presence of their older sister, Lisa, and a mysterious astronaut who joins the fray to help the boys navigate the game's lethal challenges.

One of the most praised aspects of the 2005 film is its reliance on practical effects. Jon Favreau opted for physical models and animatronics over excessive CGI, giving the film a tangible, retro-futuristic aesthetic. The Zorgons—lizard-like antagonists—and the hulking robot feel grounded in reality, which heightens the sense of danger. Watching this in High Definition allows viewers to appreciate the intricate mechanical details of the board game itself and the vibrant, high-contrast colors of the nebulae outside the house windows.

The Dual Audio feature is particularly valuable for international audiences or language learners. It allows viewers to switch between the original English performances by Josh Hutcherson, Jonah Bobo, and Dax Shepard, and high-quality dubbed tracks. This versatility ensures that the film’s themes of sibling rivalry and eventual reconciliation resonate across different cultures without losing the emotional weight of the dialogue.

Technically, a High Definition (HD) release ensures that the fast-paced action sequences are crisp and free of motion blur. The sound design also benefits from higher bitrates, making the mechanical whirring of the game board and the explosive sound of Zorgon ships feel immersive. Whether you are revisiting a childhood favorite or introducing a new generation to this celestial adventure, the Dual Audio HD format is the definitive way to experience the magic of Zathura.

Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005) is a science-fiction adventure film directed by Jon Favreau, often celebrated as a standalone "spiritual sequel" to the 1995 classic Jumanji [11]. Based on the 2002 children's book by Chris Van Allsburg [7], the story follows two bickering brothers, Walter (Josh Hutcherson) and Danny (Jonah Bobo), who discover a mysterious, retro-style mechanical board game in their basement [7, 10]. Plot & Synopsis

When the boys begin to play, their entire house is magically transported into deep space [4, 7]. To return home, they must finish the game while surviving cosmic hazards, including:

Meteor Showers: Pelting the house during the early stages of the game [5, 6]. It looks like you're referring to the movie

A Malfunctioning Robot: A homicidal, giant automaton that poses a constant threat [3, 6].

The Zorgons: Lizard-like alien pirates intent on consuming the house and its occupants [5, 6].

The Astronaut: A mysterious stranded space traveler (Dax Shepard) who joins them to help navigate the game's dangers [11]. Dual Audio & High-Quality Versions

The film has been widely released in multiple languages, reflecting its global popularity.

Language Availability: Official physical and digital releases often include Dual Audio options (e.g., Castilian, English, and Portuguese) [14].

Hindi Dubbing: While not always on the same disc as European releases, the movie is a staple of Hindi-dubbed Hollywood lists for Indian audiences [18, 28].

Formats: High-definition versions (1080p/720p) are available on major streaming platforms and through retail sites like Amazon and Amazon India [4, 13]. Reception & Legacy

Style: Praised for its retro-50s aesthetic and reliance on practical effects over CGI, which fans feel gives the "game" a tangible character of its own [4].

Theme: Beyond the action, the film focuses on the emotional growth of the brothers as they learn to cooperate and overcome their sibling rivalry [10]. The Quest for Dual Audio (Hindi + English)

Comparison: While it didn't achieve the same box-office heights as Jumanji, it is frequently cited by reviewers as a hidden gem of the 2000s and an essential family-friendly sci-fi movie [24].

Since your keyword cuts off, I have assumed the intent is looking for a High-Quality (Hi, e.g., 720p/1080p) Dual Audio (English + Hindi/Tamil/Telugu) version of the 2005 film. This article focuses on download options, features, file sizes, and why this version is popular.
