Waves Tune Real Time Tutorial
Waves Tune Real-Time — Complete Tutorial
Step 1: Setting the Key
Look at the top right of the plugin. Click the "Key" dropdown. Select "C" and "Major." Now look at the piano roll. The white keys (C,D,E,F,G,A,B) are lit green. The black keys (C#, D#, etc.) are dark grey. The plugin will instantly pull any out-of-tune notes to the nearest white key.
4. Scale & Key Setting (For Natural Sound)
- Click "Key/Scale" at the top.
- Set your song's key (e.g., C Major, G Minor).
- If you don't know: Leave it on Chromatic – it corrects to the nearest semitone.
- Better method: Set the scale. Then any wrong note that's inside the scale won't be forced to the nearest correct note – it will move slightly towards it. This sounds far more natural.
Speed (The Horizontal Axis)
- Slow (Left): The plugin waits to see if the singer hits the note before intervening. This preserves natural vibrato and slides, sounding more organic.
- Fast (Right): The plugin snaps the voice to the nearest note instantly. This creates the artificial, robotic "Auto-Tune" sound.
1. Insert WTRT on your vocal track
- Place it before reverb, delay, or compression (post-EQ is fine).
- Do not put it on the master bus.
6. Troubleshooting & Tips
-
Latency too high?
→ Lower buffer size in DAW (128 or 64 samples).
→ Use ASIO (Windows) or Core Audio (Mac). -
Pitch sounds unnatural / glitchy
→ Increase Humanize, reduce Speed.
→ Check that the scale matches the song (wrong scale = wrong notes). waves tune real time tutorial -
Not correcting enough
→ Raise Speed.
→ Switch scale from Major/Minor to Chromatic for wider correction. -
Hearing delay between vocal and corrected signal
→ Disable any other latency-inducing plugins on the same track.
→ Use “Low Latency Mode” in DAW (e.g., Logic Pro). Waves Tune Real-Time — Complete Tutorial Step 1:
