If the OTA doesn’t show up, try these fixes:
Warning: Avoid unofficial custom ROMs claiming to be Android 7.0 for the Vivo V5. Many are malware-ridden or unstable. Stick to official OTA.
Vivo layered its own changes on top of Nougat, including:
The Android 7.0 Nougat update transformed the Vivo V5 from a capable selfie phone into a genuinely functional daily driver for multitaskers. While the hardware eventually showed its age, the update maximized the potential of the device, proving that even mid-range phones could benefit from modern OS features like split-screen and Doze. vivo v5 android version 7.0 update
If you still own a Vivo V5 today, it is strongly recommended to keep it on this final official version (Android 7.0 / Funtouch OS 3.0) and avoid unofficial custom ROMs, as hardware compatibility issues often arise.
Note: As Android versions have moved far beyond Nougat, the Vivo V5 is no longer eligible for security or system updates. It is advisable to upgrade to a newer device for both security and app compatibility.

Yes, the Vivo V5 did receive the official Android 7.0 Nougat update.
However, the rollout was not immediate. After several months of beta testing and user feedback, Vivo began pushing the stable Funtouch OS 3.0 (based on Android 7.0) to the Vivo V5 in late Q2 and early Q3 of 2017. By the end of 2017, most unlocked and carrier-free V5 units across India, Indonesia, and the Philippines had received the update via OTA (Over-The-Air).
For most casual users, the update improved the experience. If you heavily game or demand flawless animations, you might notice minor hiccups. Still, the security patches (up to mid-2018) alone make it worth updating.
Nougat enhanced Google's Doze feature. While Marshmallow’s Doze only activated when the phone was stationary and screen-off, Nougat's Doze worked even when you were moving (e.g., in your pocket with the screen off). Many V5 users reported an extra 1–2 hours of standby time after this update.
