5.3 Boot Menu

• Boot Priority – Arrange HDD, optical, USB, network.

• Save Changes and Reset (F10).
• Load Optimized Defaults (F6) – Use after CMOS clear.

4.1 CPU Installation

1. Lift the metal load lever on the LGA775 socket.
2. Align the two notches on the CPU with the socket keys.
3. Do not touch the gold contacts or socket pins. Gently place the CPU flat into the socket.
4. Close the load plate and secure the lever.
5. Apply a pea-sized amount of thermal paste and attach the CPU cooler (push-pin or backplate type).

Main BIOS Sections (HP-Specific)

• System Information: Displays HP product name (e.g., “HP Pavilion HPE-210f”), BIOS version, processor, and RAM.
• Storage Options: Set SATA emulation: IDE (default for Windows XP), AHCI (recommended for Windows 7 and later).
• Boot Order: Press F9 for boot menu at startup; within BIOS, set HDD, ODD, USB, Network priority.
• Power Management: Wake-on-LAN, USB keyboard wake-up, and Restore on AC Power Loss.

Procedure to clear CMOS:

1. Turn off PC and unplug power cord.
2. Move jumper from pins 1-2 to pins 2-3.
3. Wait 10 seconds.
4. Return jumper to pins 1-2.
5. Reboot. Enter BIOS and load "Optimized Defaults".

(If no jumper, remove the CR2032 battery for 5 minutes.)
