Attributed to a dialogue between Lord Shiva (as Uddāmareśvara – “the Lord who causes extraordinary excitement”) and Goddess Parvati (as Mātangī), this text is central to the Krama and Sri Vidya schools of Tantra. Unlike the more public Puranas, the Uddāmareśvara Tantra is considered a restricted text (guhya) traditionally shared only with initiated disciples after proper diksha. However, in modern times, several authentic Hindi and Sanskrit editions have been published for academic and sincere spiritual seekers.
