The next morning, the trio (including Jerom, the super-strong prehistoric man, who had just arrived for a visit) traveled to the city. They tracked the antique shop to a dusty, forgotten alley.
The shop owner was an old, shriveled man who claimed to know nothing. But while Jerom distracted the owner by accidentally breaking a heavy iron safe (just by leaning on it), Suske and Wiske snooped around the back.
They found a ledger. It listed sales of "special climbing gear" and "soot-proof cloaks." The buyer was anonymous, but the delivery address was a dilapidated tower on the outskirts of the city.
