Prerequisites

  • Battery: Ensure your tablet is charged above 60%.
  • Wi-Fi: Connect to a stable 5GHz network (the update is ~1.2GB).
  • Storage: Free up at least 2GB of space.

A widespread issue reported by users involves the device’s inability to play 4K video content smoothly—or at all. Symptoms include freezing, stuttering, app crashes, or a “cannot play video” error when attempting 4K (2160p) playback.

  1. Install VLC for Android or MX Player from the Google Play Store.
  2. In MX Player, go to Settings > Decoder.

Even with the firmware fixed, the app you use matters. Ranked by compatibility:

  1. Nova Video Player (Best for local 4K .mkv files)
  2. Just Player (Lightest on RAM, pure hardware decoding)
  3. VLC (Most reliable for network streaming)
  4. Kodi (Best for 4K upscaling of 1080p content)

Avoid: The default "Gallery" app and "Facebook Video Player." They still have bugs with 4K.
