This guide covers how to set it up, load firmware, and flash your device safely. Guide: SP Flash Tool v5
Security Warning: Preloader and NVRAM
The most dangerous option in SP Flash Tool v5.2112 is “Format All + Download”. This erases the preloader (the first-stage bootloader) and the NVRAM partition. Security Warning: Preloader and NVRAM The most dangerous
- If the preloader is erased and the new one is incompatible, your device becomes a true hard brick—only recoverable with a hardware programmer (JTAG or EMMC clip).
- If NVRAM is erased without a backup, your phone will lose IMEI numbers, making it impossible to connect to cellular networks.
Recommendation: Always use Firmware Upgrade instead of Format All. And always backup NVRAM using the Read Back function or a dedicated MTK NVRAM tool.
Minimum Requirements:
- Windows 10 (recommended) or Windows 11
- 2GB RAM (4GB recommended)
- 100MB free disk space
- USB 2.0 port (USB 3.0 is fine, but USB 2.0 is more reliable for BROM handshakes)
- A good quality USB data cable (no charge-only cables)
Step 4: Set Download Agent (Optional but Recommended)
- Click “Options” → “Download DA” → Browse to
DA_SWSEC.binor your device-specific DA file. V5.2112 works best with the defaultMTK_AllInOne_DA.bin.
Step 2: Loading the Scatter File
The Scatter file is the map for the tool.
- Once the tool opens, you will see the main interface.
- Click on the "Choose" button (or "Scatter-loading") typically located in the top-right "Scatter-loading" section.
- Navigate to the folder containing your ROM files.
- Select the
MTxxxx_Android_scatter.txtfile. - The tool will populate the list with partitions (like PRELOADER, BOOT, RECOVERY, SYSTEM, etc.) and checkmarks will appear.
