Disable Antivirus Temporarily – Real-time scanning (especially McAfee, Norton, Avast) can corrupt the library indexing during a full install. Disable until the first reboot.
Run as Administrator – The installer must write to C:\Program Files (x86)\Labcenter Electronics and modify system registry keys.
Close all Office applications – The Proteus VSM integration with Office (for BOM export) can cause file locking errors.
Ensure no previous versions exist – Uninstall any older Proteus (v7, v8) or newer (v10, v11) to avoid DLL conflicts.

Step 6: Final Reboot

The installer will ask to restart your PC. Do so immediately – this finalizes system PATH variables used by the VSM debugger. Confirm the Full Install is Working:
