Why the 911 RSR 2020 is Unique
Before adjusting your Force Feedback (FFB), it is crucial to understand what you are driving. Unlike the road-going 911, the RSR 2020 is a mid-engine beast. Porsche moved the engine from the rear to just ahead of the rear axle to improve weight distribution and aerodynamics.
- The Engine: A 4.2-liter naturally aspirated flat-six producing over 515 hp. It screams to 9,000 RPM.
- The Exhaust: The side-exit exhaust (not rear) creates a howl that is unmistakable. In Assetto Corsa with good headphones, it is intoxicating.
- Aero: Massive rear diffuser and a swan-neck rear wing produce immense downforce, but only at high speed.
Common Issues & Fixes in Assetto Corsa
- Excessive understeer: lower front ride height, soften front ARB, increase front camber.
- Rear snap/oversteer: reduce rear wing or increase rear ride height, reduce throttle aggression, add rear toe-in or soften rear suspension.
- Brake locking: reduce front brake bias, lower brake pressure, adjust ABS (if mod supports).
- Tyre overheating: increase camber, raise pressures slightly, soften damping to reduce scrubbing.
