Steps to Reset Password
Method 3: The Hardware Factory Reset (Nuclear Option)
If the backdoor logins fail and you cannot use the app, you must perform a physical reset. This method erases all settings including network configurations, user accounts, and recording schedules. It does NOT delete your recorded video footage (the hard drive remains intact), but you will need to reconfigure the DVR from scratch.
Step-by-Step Hardware Reset:
- Power down the DVR completely. Unplug the power adapter.
- Open the case by removing the screws on the bottom or back panel. Most P6SPro units have 4-6 screws.
- Locate the CMOS battery (a silver coin-cell battery, CR2032) and the Reset Jumpers (two small metal pins standing upright, often labeled "CLR_CMOS," "JMP1," or "RESET").
- If you see a physical button: Press and hold it for 30 seconds while the device is unplugged.
- If you see two pins: Use the paperclip to short (connect) the two pins for 10 seconds.
- Remove the CMOS battery (optional but thorough): Pop out the coin battery for 5 minutes to drain residual power.
- Reassemble and power on the DVR.
After booting, the login screen should accept the default credentials (admin / 12345). You will be forced to create a new admin password immediately. p6spro dvr password reset
