Oppo A9 2020 Firmware -

Writing a review for firmware can be tricky because it is often a "love it or hate it" situation depending on the specific update version.

Since there have been several major updates for the Oppo A9 2020 (from Android 9 to 10, and then 11 with ColorOS versions in between), I have created three different review templates. You can choose the one that best matches your current experience.

7) Common troubleshooting

3) Official vs. Unofficial firmware

6. Verdict: Should You Update or Stay?

| If you are on... | Recommendation | |-----------------|----------------| | Android 9 (ColorOS 6) | Update to Android 11. The new dark mode, security patches, and smoother UI outweigh minor battery changes. | | Android 10 (ColorOS 7.1) | Update only if you want Android 11 features. Performance is nearly identical. | | Any build after August 2022 | Stay. No further improvements exist. | Oppo A9 2020 Firmware

Final Score: 7/10
Solid, stable firmware for a budget phone, but aggressive RAM management and lack of Widevine L1 hold it back. If you need reliable notifications and multitasking, look elsewhere; for basic use, it’s fine.

The Good

  1. Battery Optimization is Excellent
The firmware does a stellar job managing the massive 5000mAh battery. Even after two years, idle drain is minimal (1-2% overnight), and you can easily get 8+ hours of screen-on time with casual use. Writing a review for firmware can be tricky

  2. Smooth for Everyday Tasks
ColorOS 11 is well-optimized for the Snapdragon 665. Scrolling through social media, YouTube, and calls feels fluid. The RAM expansion feature (virtual RAM) in newer builds genuinely helps keep 4-5 apps in the background.

  3. Audio Tuning
The firmware includes Dirac HD Sound and Game Boost audio presets. The dual speakers (earpiece + bottom firing) sound loud and clear without distortion on the latest firmware updates. 3) Official vs

  4. Security Patches
The final updates (around mid-2022) include Android security patches, which is decent for a budget phone from 2019.

Method 3: MSM Download Tool (Advanced/Unbricking)

If your device is hard-bricked (completely dead, won't boot to recovery), you need the MSM Download Tool and Qualcomm drivers. This is a deep-level flash using EDL Mode (Emergency Download Mode).

8) Reverting / Downgrading
