  • Vendors: Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung.
  • Chipset Manufacturers: Qualcomm, MediaTek, HiSilicon, Google Tensor.
  • Operating Systems: Android, iOS (limited), and even proprietary RTOS on feature phones.

A truly "portable" solution means either finding a set of codes that behave similarly across platforms or using a software abstraction layer (third-party apps or scripts) that translates commands.

5. Modern Alternatives (Current Status)

While NTR was the standard for years, the modding community has largely shifted toward Luma3DS Cheat Engine.

  • NTR CFW (Legacy): Requires a separate app launch (BootNTR) before starting the game. If the game crashes, the codes must be re-enabled. It is less stable on newer firmware versions.
  • Luma3DS (Modern Standard): Integrated directly into the firmware. Users place cheat files in sdmc:/luma/titles/[TitleID]/cheats.txt. The cheats are enabled via the Rosalina menu (L + Down + Select) without needing to launch a separate app. This is currently the recommended method for "portable" code usage.
