5. Backup & change management

  • Schedule automated config backups to a secure location (encrypted).
  • Archive firmware images and release notes.
  • Use version-controlled configurations (Git or CMDB integration).
  • Implement a change window and rollback plan for maintenance.
  • Document every change with ticket/CR references.

2. Switching to Bridge Mode (For your own router)

  • Navigate to WAN -> WAN Configuration.
  • Find the existing Internet connection (usually named INTERNET or TR069_INTERNET).
  • Change the Connection Type from Route to Bridge.
  • Set Bridge Type to IP_Bridged.
  • Warning: Your Nokia Wi-Fi will stop working. You need a second router plugged into LAN port 1.

3. Step-by-Step Access Procedure

  1. Hardwire Connection: Connect your PC to LAN port 1 (not Wi-Fi) to avoid session timeouts during reboots.
  2. Static IP (if needed): Set your PC’s IPv4 to 192.168.1.100 / Subnet 255.255.255.0 / Gateway 192.168.1.1.
  3. Browser: Use Chrome or Firefox (clear cache first). Navigate to http://192.168.1.1.
  4. Login: Enter Super Admin credentials above. If admin fails, try superadmin.
  5. If locked out: Perform a hard factory reset (see Section 6).

Solution 1: Try the Hash Decryption Trick (Advanced)

Some ISPs leave a password hash in the source code of the login page.

  1. Right-click on the login page background and select View Page Source.
  2. Press Ctrl + F and search for password or pwd.
  3. Sometimes you will see a line looking like value="dGVzdA==" or a hex string.
  4. If it looks like gibberish ending in ==, it is likely Base64 encoded. Copy the string inside the quotes and use an online Base64 decoder to reveal the password.

1. Changing the Super Admin Password (Step Zero)

Go to Management -> Access Control -> Passwords. Change the super admin password immediately. Write it down. If you lose it, you have to factory reset the ONT. Nokia G-1425g-a Super Admin
