Miss Koversada 2011: A Forgotten Pageant of the Croatian Summer
In the vast, nostalgic landscape of early 2010s European culture, certain niche events capture the spirit of an era gone by. One such event, often whispered about in Balkan tourism circles and obscure fashion forums, is Miss Koversada 2011. While it never rivaled the glitz of Miss Universe or the prestige of Miss World, this specific pageant held a unique place in the heart of the Adriatic. For those who remember, it was the epitome of sun-drenched hedonism, natural beauty, and the unique socio-cultural experiment that was Koversada.
Overview
Miss Koversada is an annual beauty pageant held at the Koversada Naturist Resort near Vrsar, Istria, Croatia. The 2011 edition celebrated naturist culture, tourism, and community, featuring contestants, live events, evening gowns and swimwear segments, and social activities connected to the resort and local area.
Competition Rounds (Detailed)
The final evening took place at the resort’s outdoor amphitheater (capacity ~800 guests), with naturist audience attendance mandatory (clothing optional but most spectators nude). miss koversada 2011

All 12 contestants walked the full length of the stage in normal daylight conditions. Judges evaluated posture, ease of movement, eye contact, and lack of visible discomfort. No jewelry or accessories allowed except for eyeglasses or medical items.

Round 3 – “Q&A with the Jury”
Each contestant answered two mandatory questions: A cappella singing (two contestants) Short poetry readings
- “What does nudity mean to you personally in daily life?”
- “How would you explain naturism to someone who confuses it with exhibitionism?”
The most memorable answer (from the eventual winner, a 24-year-old Croatian student):
“Nudity is my default setting. Exhibitionism needs an audience. Naturism just needs sunshine and respect.”
Round 4 – “Evening Elegance”
Paradoxically, this final round introduced light accessories (shawls, hats, jewelry, or sheer pareos) but still no mandatory coverage of breasts or genitals. This tested the contestants’ ability to look “dressed up” while remaining functionally nude — a unique challenge.
