Why Use LaserGRBL?
LaserGRBL is an open-source, Windows-only software explicitly designed for DIY diode lasers like the Litefire series. It is less feature-rich than LightBurn but is completely free and highly reliable for basic engraving and cutting.
Option 1: LightBurn – The Recommended Software for Litefire
In 99% of cases, the software you need is LightBurn. Litefire machines are almost universally compatible with LightBurn because it supports the GRBL and GCode protocols that these engravers use.
3. Poor Engraving Quality
- Solution: LiteFire is very basic. It does not have advanced image dithering like LightBurn. If your photos look "washed out," try converting your image to pure Black and White before importing it into LiteFire, or adjust the "Burning Time" (exposure time) in small increments.
For macOS Users (Ventura/Sonoma/Sequoia)
- Download the CH340 driver (the .pkg file).
- Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security. Allow the driver from “WCH.”
- Restart your Mac.
- Download LightBurn for macOS.
