Recommendations

Based on the features and benefits of the Lihuiyu Studio Labs laser software, we recommend:

Getting Started with Lihuiyu Studio Labs Laser Software If you have just unboxed a K40 laser cutter or upgraded to an

motherboard, you are likely looking for the "Lihuiyu Studio Labs" software suite. This software, often included on a USB stick with Chinese CO2 lasers, is essential for basic operation but can be tricky to locate online. Core Software Components

The Lihuiyu ecosystem typically consists of three main programs: CorelLASER lihuiyu studio labs laser software download

: An extension for CorelDRAW that allows you to send designs directly to the laser.

: A standalone design and engraving application often used for stamp making. : Specialized software focused on seal and stamp design. CNC Utilities Where to Download

Lihuiyu Studio Labs does not maintain a central "brand" website for software downloads. Instead, you can find the drivers and software through these reliable community and distributor sources: LaserCutMY : Offers a dedicated Software & Drivers page

where you can find the latest updated M3 and M2 motherboard files. ScorchWorks : Provides the K40 Whisperer Driver Installer , which is a purpose-built utility for installing the Libusb-win32

driver needed for Lihuiyu controllers to communicate over USB. Manufacturer/Vendor Sites : Sites like

often include download links or documentation in their product listings for these boards. Cloudray Laser Better Alternatives

While the stock Lihuiyu software is functional, many users find it limited. If you find the interface difficult to use, consider these popular alternatives that are compatible with the Lihuiyu M2/M3 Nano boards:

Lihuiyu Studio Labs produces the standard proprietary software and hardware control systems (specifically the M2 Nano and M3 Nano boards) for the popular K40 CO2 laser cutters.

The software package typically includes LaserDRW, WinsealXP, and the CorelLASER plugin for CorelDraw. Quick Verdict: Is it Good?

For most users, the stock Lihuiyu software is considered functional but outdated. It is primarily designed as a basic driver to get your machine running immediately, but it lacks the advanced features and intuitive workflow found in modern alternatives. Key Software Features

CorelLASER Integration: Allows you to design in CorelDraw and send jobs directly to the laser via a toolbar plugin.

LaserDRW: A standalone application for basic text and graphic layouts, supporting formats like BMP, JPG, and PNG for engraving.

Dongle Protection: Most versions require a physical USB dongle (security key) to operate. Without this dongle, the software will not communicate with the laser board.

Multi-language Support: The software is designed to support various languages, including English and Chinese. Pros & Cons

Most Lihuiyu-based machines rely on a specific software suite that typically includes LaserDRW, WinsealXP, and the CorelLASER plugin.

LaserDRW: The standard standalone application for typesetting and controlling the laser. Introduction Lihuiyu Studio Labs is a renowned company

CorelLASER: An integration that allows you to cut and engrave directly from CorelDraw (versions like X7 are highly compatible).

The USB Dongle: Crucial! These programs usually require a physical USB dongle (often yellow, gold, or blue) to be plugged into your PC to function. Where to Download

Since there isn't one "universal" official site, you should prioritize these sources:

Manufacturer/Seller Sites: Many reputable vendors provide these downloads for free. For example, Monport Laser offers free LaserDRW downloads for their machines.

Provided Installation CD: If you still have the CD that came with your machine, it usually contains the most stable drivers for your specific board.

Third-Party Repositories: Sites like LaserUser and local distributors often host mirrored files. Alternative (Modern) Software Options

If the original software feels outdated or keeps crashing, many hobbyists switch to more modern, open-source alternatives that work with the M2 Nano board:

If you’ve recently picked up a K40 laser cutter or a similar entry-level CO2 laser, you’ve likely encountered Lihuiyu Studio Labs. Their hardware—specifically the M2 Nano motherboard—is the backbone of thousands of desktop lasers. However, finding the right software to communicate with that board can be a bit of a scavenger hunt.

Here is everything you need to know about downloading and installing Lihuiyu Studio Labs software. What is Lihuiyu Studio Labs Software?

Lihuiyu Studio Labs doesn't just make one "app." They provide the firmware and the core drivers that allow your computer to talk to the laser’s control board. Usually, this manifests as LaserDRW, a basic design and output suite, or a plugin for CorelDRAW called CorelLaser.

⚠️ Note: This software typically requires a USB "dongle" (a small gold or blue USB key) to function. Without the physical key, the software will not open. Where to Download the Software

Since Lihuiyu is a hardware manufacturer, they don't always maintain a centralized "App Store" experience. You generally have three reliable options: 1. The Manufacturer’s Official Site

Most users find the latest stable builds via the official Lihuiyu (LHY) repositories. Official Link: Lihuiyu Studio Labs Downloads

Tip: The site is often in Chinese; use a browser translator to find the "Download" or "Service" section. 2. Stock USB Drive

Almost every K40 laser ships with a small USB thumb drive. Before searching online, check your machine’s packaging. This drive contains: The USB driver (CH341SER). The LaserDRW installation file. The CorelLaser plugin. 3. Community Mirrors

If you’ve lost your disk and the official site is down, reputable CNC and laser communities (like K40.forums or various GitHub repositories) host mirror files of the English versions. Installation Steps Laser control : The software allows users to

Install the Driver First: Locate the CH341SER.EXE file. This tells Windows how to "see" the laser via USB.

Plug in the Dongle: Insert your USB encryption key before launching the installer.

Run the Installer: Execute the LaserDRW.exe or CorelLaser.exe file.

Configure the Device ID: In the software settings, you must enter the ID number found on your laser’s motherboard (usually starting with a string of letters and numbers). Modern Alternatives: Meerk40t

If you find the Lihuiyu software too clunky or outdated, you aren't stuck with it. Meerk40t is a popular, open-source alternative designed specifically for Lihuiyu M2 Nano boards. No Dongle Required: It uses a different driver method.

Advanced Features: It adds job queuing and better image processing.

Cross-Platform: Works on Mac and Linux, unlike the original software.

💡 Pro Tip: Always keep a backup of your unique Device ID. If you ever switch computers or software, that ID is the "handshake" that makes your laser fire.

These machines are widely sold under various brand names (most notably EleksMaker, Banggood, and various generic brands on Amazon/eBay). They use the M2 Nano controller board, which requires specific software to operate.

4. VirusTotal Check

If you already downloaded a file named Lihuiyu Studio Labs.exe, run it through VirusTotal before executing it. Many user reports indicate that unofficial versions trigger heuristic detections for Trojan.Downloader.

Phase 3: Connect the Laser

  1. Turn off your laser cutter.
  2. Plug the USB-B cable (printer cable) into the PC and laser.
  3. Turn on the laser.
  4. Open Windows Device Manager. You should see "USB-SERIAL CH340" under Ports (COM & LPT). If you see a yellow triangle, right-click > Update Driver > Browse my computer > point to the Driver folder.

Common Problems & Fixes for Lihuiyu Studio Labs

Part 3: Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Installing Lihuiyu software requires a specific sequence. Do not plug in your laser until instructed.

What is Lihuiyu Studio Labs Laser Software?

Lihuiyu Technology (also stylized as LiHuiYu) is a Chinese manufacturer of laser controller boards. Their "Studio Labs" desktop application is a lightweight, dedicated control software designed specifically for their proprietary USB controllers.

Unlike professional platforms like LightBurn (which now supports Lihuiyu boards natively), the Studio Labs software is basic but functional. It allows you to:

Key identifier: The software icon is typically a red laser beam or a blue/yellow "Laser" icon. The file name usually contains LaserDRW or CorelLaser.

Problem 2: Laser Moves Backwards or Mirror Image

Fix: In LaserDRW → Hardware Settings → Reverse X axis or Reverse Y axis (depending on your mirror alignment).

Damian Adams says:

Great plugin, but I wanted to pass the BPM to a downstream VST, I cannot see how to get the BPM out as a parameter.

Troy says:

This is brilliant. Thank you!

Richard Dickson says:

Saverio, thanks! I just got this plugin. I can see how it could be helpful.

I watched the video on the sales page. However, how does the MIDI output work? I didn't see it reviewed in the video.

Andrew Webb says:

Not great. Wanted this for BPM detection. Even with an electronic pop drum generator, SongKey was several BPM off the actual tempo and it takes too long to register a change in tempo, if it detects the change at all. Has potential but not reliable.

David says:

I admit I use it a lot, for samples, tracks and root notes. The design is great, minimalist and overall clean. However, the accuracy decreases with the number of notes and, for example, chord-heavy EDM tracks are usually inaccurate by a semitone.

Jay Lane says:

This is decent for simple chords but seems to get confused when playing 5 or 6 note chords. Accuracy definitely dips when dealing with more complex stuff, hence the rating.

Colin Mansfield says:

Any idea when the AAX version will be ready for Pro Tools 2023 on Apple Silicon? Without it, my harmonies sometimes sound like a tone deaf Balkans choir… (Just kidding, but it IS such a useful plugin.)

Takeshi Kumagai says:

Hello.
I think it would be useful to have a MIDI detection priority button and an audio detection priority button on the MK4.

Samuel says:

Very useful plugin, I really like the standalone app

Amazinbeats says:

Come to iOS Auv3 please

Gregory Timmons says:

Exactly what I need and no more.

I don't need more instruments, I don't need a ton of junk in my plugins. I just need to do one thing and one thing right. I'm very happy that Hornet Plugins has created this piece of software!

Franzzyyzz says:

Tempo detection doesn't seem to work properly. For example for "Dirty Mind" (PandaBoyz) it says 123 bpm when the actual bpm is 126. That song has a strong kick & bass for the first 8 bars that should be easy enough to detect.

Nice plugin though… but a more reliable bpm detection would be nice.

Colonyrecords says:

I just bought but Im getting audio glitches in NI Maschine with this plugin, needs optimization. I tried both AU and VST same thing..

Jeff Malmud says:

I am a full time Mix Engineer. I didn't expect to, but I use Songkey MK4 regularly, and has been part of my Pre-Mix Template. since MK3, to verify my findings, It does what they say they'll do. Their free upgrades is an indicator to me of how much a company cares about their customers, as opposed to companies like the $29 special price company that nickel-dimes you at every turn. .

DJFLX says:

Thank you for the demo Saverio:) Fantastic plugin! I am not a musician but a producer and songwriter and this would really speed up the process of finding chords as base to be inspired from for an arrangement. I should definitely try it out.

Best,
DJFLX

Saverio Vigni says:

We updated drastically the detection engine with SongKey MK3, this update is an evolutive update keeping the same detection engine but improving the crhromagram generation. IF you want to know more just drop me a line

Saverio Vigni says:

could you please let us have the tracks that misbehave?

Saverio Vigni says:

Hi we'll shot a video soon demonstrating how the plugin works!

Jeff Mayer says:

Very useful plugin! I use it to quick balance all my imported track.

Question… is the MK4 update free to MK3 owners?
