VersaWorks 6 — Download & Installation Guide

Note: VersaWorks 6 is Roland DG software for managing print jobs. Follow these steps to download and install a compatible, licensed copy.

1) Check system requirements

• OS: Windows 10/11 (64-bit) or macOS if supported by your VersaWorks 6 build — confirm compatibility on Roland DG support pages or your device manual.
• CPU: modern multi-core processor
• RAM: 8 GB minimum (16 GB recommended)
• Disk: 10+ GB free
• USB/Network ports and printer drivers for your Roland device

Part 7: Updating vs. Fresh Installing

• Update (Recommended): If you have VW6 build 6.0.0 or higher, open the software and go to Help > Check for Updates. This keeps all your saved presets and media profiles intact.
• Fresh Install: Required if you are upgrading from VersaWorks 5 (32-bit). VersaWorks 5 and 6 cannot coexist on the same PC. You must uninstall VW5 via Windows Control Panel first.

Step 3: Installation Wizard

1. Choose your language and click OK.
2. On the welcome screen, click Next.
3. Accept the license agreement.
4. Select installation destination (default is fine for most users).
5. Choose components:
   • VersaWorks 6 Core – required
   • USB Driver – if connecting via USB
   • Manual & Profiles – recommended
6. Click Install and wait. This takes 5–10 minutes.

Step 3: Preparing for Installation

Before running the installer, do the following to ensure a smooth setup: OS: Windows 10/11 (64-bit) or macOS if supported

1. Connect the Printer: Ensure your Roland printer is connected to the PC via USB or Ethernet and is powered ON. The installer may try to detect the printer model automatically.
2. Close Other Applications: Shut down Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and any antivirus software temporarily (antivirus can sometimes block the driver installation component).
3. Extract the File: Once the download finishes, locate the .zip file in your Downloads folder. Right-click and select Extract All.
