Plot Synopsis: The Narrative Arc

The Setup The story begins with Badri, a blind astrologer, fleeing a palace in horror, setting the tone for a haunted atmosphere. Siddharth and his wife Avni return from the US to their ancestral palace in India. Despite warnings from family members and the astrologer Badri, Avni is curious about a forbidden locked room on the third floor, believed to be haunted by the spirit of a Bengali dancer, Manjulika.

The Conflict Strange occurrences begin to plague the household: lights flicker, sounds of ghungroos (ankle bells) are heard, and furniture moves. Suspicion initially falls on Radha, who was rejected by Siddharth in favor of Avni. However, the incidents escalate, culminating in a violent attack on the household servant.

The Investigation Siddharth calls his friend, Dr. Aditya Shrivastav, to investigate. Aditya’s entry shifts the film's tone from horror to comedy and deduction. He dismisses the supernatural claims, much to the chagrin of the superstitious family, particularly Chhote Pandit and Badri. Through a series of experiments, Aditya discovers that the "ghost" is not a spirit, but a human presence.

The Climax & The Twist The film’s pivotal moment reveals that Avni is suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). Triggered by stories of Manjulika, Avni adopts the persona of the vengeful dancer. The climax takes place during the festival of Durga Puja, where Aditya stages a confrontation.
