• Chintu (Babu Rao's grandson): A wannabe crypto bro who speaks in broken English and sells fake NFTs. He accidentally plugs the old telephone into a VOIP router, activating the call.
• Meera (Raju's estranged daughter): A sharp, cynical cybersecurity analyst. She thinks her father is a joke. She's the only one who realizes the Dubai heist is a trap.
• Don Jimmy (Villain): A slick, minimalist gangster in his 40s. He wears beige linen suits and hates noise. His henchmen are silent, gym-fit, and carry tasers instead of guns ("Less paperwork").

The Core Trio (Now & Then)

• Raju (Akshay Kumar style – older, crankier, still broke): Runs a failing "adventure tourism" shack near the Mumbai coast. He's divorced twice, still smokes, and has perfected the art of sleeping on a torn hammock.
• Shyam (Suniel Shetty vibe – now a paranoid hypochondriac): Lives in a tiny apartment filled with air purifiers and ayurvedic books. His life’s goal is to get a Canadian visa. He wears a back brace 24/7.
• Babu Rao (Paresh Rawal – timeless, immortal, insane): Now the self-proclaimed "Chairman of the Colony Residents' Welfare Association." He rents out the same old room to three clueless Gen Z tenants. His catchphrase has evolved: "Aaya hoon, nahi gaya, aur ab toh rent bhi nahi dunga."

The Soundtrack: A Nod to the Past

No Hera Pheri article is complete without mentioning the music. While the 2000 film gave us the iconic “Aye Meri Zindagi” (used tragically), the SolTalkies 2024 version flips the script. The background score is a mix of lo-fi remixes of the original theme and original chaotic orchestral stabs. The end credits feature a rap song titled “Telephone Dhundo” (Find the Phone), which has already gone viral on Instagram Reels among fans of the original.

Plot Overview: Same Troubles, New Millennium

• Raju (The Schemer): A part-time food delivery rider drowning in loan app debt. He is played by a breakout indie actor (name withheld by the producers for surprise effect) who mimics Akshay Kumar’s swagger but adds a layer of digital-age anxiety.
• Shyam (The Worrier): A small-time online tutor who pays rent via UPI. He still worries about "kitne aadmi the," but now he also worries about social media trolls.
• Babu Rao (The Crown Jewel): Arguably the most difficult role to fill. The SolTalkies version introduces a theater veteran who delivers Paresh Rawal’s signature dialect but with new, bizarre one-liners about cryptocurrency scams and inflation.

The plot thickens when a wrong number (a classic trope) leads them to believe they have won a jackpot in a dubious online lottery. Mistaking a gangster’s money drop for their prize, the trio dives into a series of chaotic events involving a missing hard drive, a corrupt politician, and a South Indian don who loves organic farming.
