Graitec Advance Design Tutorial Repack May 2026
This guide assumes you have the software installed (Advance Design, or Advance Design Steel/Concrete modules).
Step 4: Drawing Beams
- Select Beam.
- Section: 300x500 mm.
- Draw from column to column along the X and Y directions.
- The "Continuous Beam" trick: Hold
Ctrl while selecting multiple grid lines to draw continuous beams in one click, rather than segment by segment.
Concrete Reinforcement (The AutoDesign)
- Select a beam.
- Go to Design > Reinforcement > Longitudinal bars.
- AD will suggest:
3Ø16 (top) + 2Ø14 (bottom).
- Tutorial tip: Click "Customize" to change cover from 20mm to 30mm based on exposure class XC1.
Who is this tutorial for?
- ✅ Best for: Structural engineers with prior FEA knowledge (e.g., from Autodesk Robot, SAP2000) who need to learn Advance Design’s workflow quickly.
- ✅ Good for: Graduate students wanting Eurocode steel/concrete design examples.
- ❌ Not for: Complete beginners to structural analysis (learn statics & FEA concepts first).
- ❌ Not for: Users seeking BIM collaboration workflows (IFC, Revit) – those are scattered across separate webinars.
