8. Security Tips for Desktop Login
- ✅ Always log out on shared/public computers.
- ✅ Use a strong, unique password.
- ✅ Enable two-factor authentication.
- ✅ Check https://www.facebook.com (look for padlock icon).
- ✅ Don’t save passwords on public PCs.
- ✅ Review “Where you’re logged in” under Settings → Security and login.
Requirements
- A working desktop or laptop with an internet connection
- A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari)
- A Facebook account (email/phone number and password)
- Optional: access to your mobile device or authenticator app for 2FA
"Keep me signed in"
Under the password field, you will see a checkbox that says "Keep me signed in." facebook login on desktop
- Check this box if you are using a personal computer. It will save your session so you don't have to type your password every time you visit the site.
- Uncheck this box if you are using a public computer (like a library or hotel business center) to prevent others from accessing your account after you leave.
Alternative: Logging in via a Mobile Browser on Desktop Mode

- Open browser developer tools (F12).
- Toggle device emulation (smartphone icon).
- Refresh – you’ll see the mobile login screen, but features will be limited.
