Subject: Comprehensive Gameplay and Narrative Guide for the Visual Novel Euphoria Target Audience: Players seeking 100% completion, true ending access, and narrative clarification. Disclaimer: Euphoria is an adult-oriented visual novel with themes of psychological horror and extreme content. This report focuses on structural gameplay and narrative analysis.
1. Recommended Route Order (Story Coherence)
The game has a "False Ending" system. Do not start with the character you like most. euphoria visual novel guide
Best Order:
- Natsuki (The "tutorial" route – least plot relevance)
- Rinna (Shortest route, some hints)
- Kanae (Unlocks more of the facility backstory)
- Nemu (Do NOT save her for last – her route explains the setup but not the mastermind)
- Kengo (Omocha) – Only available after clearing the above four.
- True Ending (Keisuke's choice) – This is the final route.
Critical: Do not play the "True Ending" until you have finished all 5 character routes (Natsuki, Rinna, Kanae, Nemu, Kengo). Natsuki (The "tutorial" route – least plot relevance)
What happens in the True Ending (Spoilers):
- The Big Twist: The "Keisuke" you played as is a clone. The real Keisuke is the masked "Guide."
- Rinne’s Identity: Rinne is "Hokari Rinne," the original master of the facility. She is dying.
- The Mission: The game was designed by the real Keisuke to find a clone strong enough to endure pain without breaking, so that clone can take over the facility and keep Rinne alive inside a virtual paradise ("Euphoria").
- The Final Choice:
- Bad True End: Refuse the mission. You and your clone self both die. Rinne dies alone.
- Good True End (Reunion): Accept the mission. You (the clone) enter the tube. You digitize your consciousness to live forever with Rinne in the virtual world, while your physical body runs the facility.
Epilogue: You and Rinne sit on an infinite white beach. She touches your face. "Welcome home, Keisuke." She reveals she remembers everything. The screen fades to white. Game Settings >
Part 4: Secrets & Missable Content
Part 5: Advice for a First-Time Player
- Use a Guide for Rinne: Her points are incredibly obtuse. One wrong dialogue option locks you out of the True Ending for 6 hours.
- Save Often: The game has no Auto-Save. Keep a file at the start of Day 1 and Day 5.
- Skip Read Text: Go to Options > Game Settings > "Skip Only Read Text." This will save you hours on subsequent playthroughs.
- Don't Play Hungover: The sound design (bone fractures, screaming) is famously nauseating. Take breaks.
- Read the Voice Actor Q&A: After the True Ending, the "Extras" menu unlocks a developer Q&A. It explains the symbolism of the "Doves" (white = illusion, black = reality).
The D.O. (Dominance Order) System
This is the most critical mechanic. It appears during "forced" scenes. You have two choices:
- Compulsion (Mouse Up): You obey the Guide. This raises your "Obedience" stat.
- Dominance (Mouse Down): You resist. This raises your "Will" stat.
Crucial Rule: To enter specific heroine routes (especially the True Ending), you must use Dominance at specific times. Using Compulsion every time locks you into the bad ending.
