The story picks up in an alternate timeline where Dr. Gero has successfully uploaded his consciousness into a super-powered android body. However, his greatest creation—Cell—has betrayed him and scattered the seven Dragon Balls across a hostile, glitch-filled wasteland. To regain control of his laboratory, Gero must parkour, punch, and puzzle-solve his way through 20 levels to collect the "balls" (Dragon Balls) before Cell activates a world-ending program.

Gameplay Tips: How to Survive Level 1

Most players give up within the first three minutes. Do not be that player. Here is how to master the opening "Laboratory Escape" segment.

  1. Do not fight every enemy. Android 20 is slow. Use the dash move (double-tap right) to bypass Saibamen.
  2. Energy management is king. You start with 100% energy. Each punch drains 2%. Each energy drain restores 10%. Wait for enemies to flash red before absorbing them.
  3. The "Balls" are hidden. The first Dragon Ball is not in the main path. At the start, jump backwards onto a broken pipe to find a secret alcove.
  4. The Jump is floaty. Unlike Mario or Sonic, Android 20 hovers for 0.5 seconds. Use this hover to avoid floor spikes, not to jump further.
