Ch-899 Chouchin Radio Controlled Clock Manual Upd May 2026

User Manual: CH-899 Chouchin Radio-Controlled Clock

Thank you for purchasing the CH-899 Chouchin Radio-Controlled Clock.
This clock automatically sets itself to the correct time using radio signals. Please read this manual carefully before use.

Initial setup & automatic time sync

  • Place the clock near a window or away from electronic interference for best radio reception.
  • On power-up the clock will attempt to receive the radio time signal automatically (this can take several minutes, up to an hour in weak-signal areas).
  • Successful reception is usually indicated by a signal icon or an “RC” / antenna indicator on the display.

Section 4: Forcing a Signal Reception (Manual Sync)

If the clock displays the wrong time or the antenna icon is flashing continuously, force a manual sync. ch-899 chouchin radio controlled clock manual

To force the CH-899 to search for the signal: Initial setup & automatic time sync

  1. Locate the "WAVE" or "RCC" button on the back. Some models use a pinhole labeled "REC" (reception).
  2. Press and hold this button for 3–5 seconds.
  3. The second hand will move to a specific position (e.g., 12:00 or a "RX" zone) to indicate it is searching.
  4. Leave the clock for up to 15 minutes. Do not press any buttons.

If after 15 minutes the time has not corrected: Place the clock near a window or away

  • Move the clock to a different location (preferably near a window on an upper floor).
  • Remove and reinsert the batteries, then try the manual sync again.

6. Radio Control (RC) Synchronization

The clock is programmed to search for the signal automatically at night (typically between 1:00 AM and 4:00 AM) when interference is lowest.

  • Signal Strength Icon: Look for a tower or antenna icon on the display.
    • If the icon is flashing, the clock is searching for a signal.
    • If the icon is solid, the signal is strong and time is synced.
    • If the icon is absent, the signal is too weak.
  • Manual Search: Press and hold the RCC/RC button for 3 seconds to force a search.
  • Disabling RC: If you are in a region with no signal coverage, you can hold the RCC button until the antenna icon disappears, or set the time manually.

Problem 3: The clock never sets itself after 24 hours.

Cause: Poor signal location. Solution:

  • Move the clock at least 6 feet away from any wireless router, smart TV, or LED light bulb dimmer (these emit interference).
  • Overnight, place the clock in a west-facing window (for US) or south-facing (for Europe).
  • If all else fails, use the manual setting method (Section 3). The clock will still run accurately as a quartz clock.

Why isn't it syncing? (Troubleshooting)

If you see the antenna icon flashing for a long time with no result:

  • Interference: Place the clock near a window, away from computers, TVs, or microwaves which can interfere with the radio signal.
  • Nighttime: The signal is strongest at night. If it fails during the day, leave it alone; it will likely correct itself by morning.
  • Battery Low: A weak battery may run the display but lack the power to catch the radio signal.

Signal reception tips

  • Best reception at night and near windows facing the transmission tower direction.
  • Avoid placing the clock near large metal objects, electronic devices, or inside thick concrete structures.
  • If reception fails, perform a manual sync attempt by pressing the "Receive" or "Sync" button; restart the clock if needed.

To Set the Time Manually:

  1. Locate the small button on the back of the movement. It is usually labeled "M.SET" (Manual Set) or "SET".
  2. Press and hold this button for 5 seconds until the second hand stops or jumps to a starting position.
  3. To advance the time: Press the "M.SET" button repeatedly (each press moves the minute hand forward by 1 minute).
  4. To fast advance: Press and hold the "M.SET" button. The hands will spin continuously. Release when close to the correct time.
  5. To stop the manual mode: Press the "RESET" button (if available) or simply do nothing for 10 seconds. The clock will resume normal operation in manual mode.
