हाँ, यह एक प्रामाणिक तांत्रिक ग्रन्थ है, जिसका उल्लेख अन्य तांत्रिक ग्रन्थों (जैसे मुण्डमाला तन्त्र, उड्डीश तन्त्र) में भी मिलता है। परन्तु इसकी बहुत सी प्रतियाँ समय के साथ नष्ट हो गईं या गुप्त रखी गईं। वर्तमान में कुछ ही प्रतियाँ संस्कृत पांडुलिपियों के रूप में काशी, मैसूर, और तिब्बत के संग्रहालयों में उपलब्ध हैं।
