AutoFluid Patch – Technical Write-Up

Installation: How to Deploy an Autofluid Patch

Upgrading to a self-healing system requires a clean process.

For Tubeless Systems:

  1. Remove the valve core using a metal core tool.
  2. Use an injector syringe (60ml or larger) filled with your chosen autofluid.
  3. Inject the recommended volume (e.g., 120ml for a 29x2.5" MTB tire; 60ml for a 700x28c road tire).
  4. Replace the valve core, inflate to seat the bead, and spin the wheel vigorously.
  5. Rotate the tire horizontally to coat the sidewalls and tread.

For Tube Systems:

  1. Remove the Schrader or Presta valve core.
  2. Use a sealant injector to fill the tube (approx 2oz for a standard road tube).
  3. Reinflate and ride. Note: You cannot use this with removable-core tubes only; solid-core tubes are incompatible.

Pro Tip: After injecting an autofluid patch, always store the bike or vehicle with the tires inflated. A flat tire allows the fluid to pool, which can dry into a useless lump. autofluid patch

The Future of Autofluid Patch Technology

Research labs are currently developing "Smart Autofluid Patches" equipped with conductive carbon nanotubes. These will serve as sensors, sending a wireless alert when the fluid film thickness drops below 1 micron or when the patch reaches 80% of its service life.

Furthermore, additive manufacturing (3D printing) now allows for custom autofluid patches to be printed directly onto damaged shafts, repairing the surface and adding the patch in a single laser-sintering step. Please choose the one that fits your context best

Hydraulic Excavators & Forestry Equipment

These machines face the "three Ds": dust, dirt, and deep submersion. An autofluid patch on a hydraulic cylinder rod prevents "rod scoring" caused by ice or grit. Forestry companies have extended cylinder rebuild intervals from 1 year to 5 years using these patches.

Key Advantages Over Traditional Seals

Why switch to an autofluid patch? For maintenance managers, the ROI is undeniable. AutoFluid Patch – Technical Write-Up Installation: How to
