Cairo International Airport — ARMI Project (HECA) for FS2004: Extra Quality
1. The Terminal Complex (Terminal 1, 2, and 3)
ARMI modeled the distinct architectural eras of Cairo Airport. Terminal 1 (the old airport) features the retro 1960s Egyptian modernism. Terminal 2 (the renovated hub) showcases the massive curved roof structures. Crucially, Terminal 3 - the massive facility opened in the late 2000s - was included via predictive modeling based on construction plans. In "extra quality" mode, these textures feature reflective glass and baked ambient occlusion shadows.
1. Hyper-Detailed Terminals (Circa 2005 Era)
The default FS2004 HECA was a placeholder. The ARMI Project introduces all three original terminals:
- Terminal 1 (Old Airport): Featuring the iconic hexagonal departure halls and vintage EgyptAir livery details.
- Terminal 2 (International Hub): The centerpiece. The scenery uses semi-transparent glass textures that allow you to see interior skeleton structures—a technical marvel for FS2004.
- Terminal 3 (Post-2004 Expansion): ARMI future-proofed the scenery with a modeled extension that matches the real-world construction of the late 2000s.
