Problem 2: Front panel power button does nothing.

Solution:

Check the polarity of the power switch. Unlike standard boards, Acer sometimes uses pins 5 & 7 or 6 & 8. Use a screwdriver to briefly short pin pairs until the PC powers on.
Alternatively, the proprietary header may require an adapter cable (available on eBay as "Acer front panel adapter").
