The Ultimate Guide to 18 WoS ALH Mods Download: Revive Your Classic Trucking Sim
Step 3: Install the Mod
- Standalone mods (trucks/trailers): Extract the
.scs file into the mod folder. Then, launch the game, go to “Truck Dealer” or “Trailer Shop,” and the new vehicle should appear.
- Map mods: Replace the original
game.map file or use a mod manager like ALH Mod Manager (available on Mod DB).
- Graphics mods: Usually overwrite
.dds texture files in the base.scs – always backup first.
1. Before you start
- Backup: Back up your game saves and important files.
- System check: Ensure your PC meets the game’s and mods’ requirements (OS version, RAM, disk space).
- Antivirus: Temporarily disable real-time installers only if required, but keep antivirus enabled to scan files after download.
5. Installing the mod (general method)
- Extract the downloaded archive to a temporary folder.
- Read the included README or install instructions — follow any mod-specific steps first.
- If using a mod manager:
- Import the mod package into the manager.
- Enable the mod and set load order per the author’s recommendations.
- If manual install:
- Copy mod files (e.g., data/, mods/, .pak files) into the game’s mods or installation folder as instructed.
- Overwrite files only if the mod requires it and you’ve backed up originals.
9. Updating and uninstalling
- Update mods via the original source or mod manager; back up saves before major updates.
- To uninstall: use the mod manager’s uninstall feature or remove files manually and restore backed-up originals.
- If uninstall causes issues, revert to a saved backup taken before installation.
Step 2: Locate the Mod Folder
Unlike modern SCS games, ALH does not have a built-in “mod” folder. You must create one:
- Inside the main ALH folder, create a new folder named mod (all lowercase).
- Some mods require placing files directly into the
base.scs archive (advanced users only—use WinRAR or 7-Zip).
